In 1982, fuelled by our family's love for hand-knotted Persian rugs, we embarked on a journey to bring our grand vision to life.
With just a 200-square-foot office, we poured our hearts into creating handcrafted masterpieces that would stand the test of time.
Since then, our small business has blossomed into a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit spanning an impressive 1,26,000 square feet.
Every step of the rug-making process, from hand-selecting the finest materials to adding the final finishing touches,
is carried out with meticulous care and attention to detail.
What truly sets us apart, however, is our bold approach to design. We don't shy away from using unconventional materials like leather,
wood, metal, and even Swarovski crystals to create truly one-of-a-kind rugs. Moreover, we are deeply committed to sustainability and
always strive to innovate in this area. For instance, we incorporate crop stubble into our rugs, a practice that helps to reduce
air pollution and contributes to a greener world.

Humble beginnings lead to an ever-evolving success story.
Founders Bharat Bhushan Choudhary and Lalit Kumar Choudhary embarked on a journey to create hand-knotted masterpieces in 1982, leaving their hometown in Kolkata with a mere Rs. 100,000/- in hand. They established their humble beginnings in a small town in rural Uttar Pradesh and grew over 40 years of experience in the industry across different qualities and markets. Pioneers of innovation, they introduced new materials and techniques in carpet production that set a new standard in the industry.
The second-generation leaders, Prateek Choudhary and Akshat Choudhary, joined the family business and are carrying forward the legacy with their modern approach. Prateek, a chartered accountant, joined in 2012 and focuses on primary markets like the USA, Canada, Europe, and South Africa. Akshat, An MBA in marketing from MDI Gurgaon, joined in 2017 and takes care of primary markets in The Middle East, Singapore, Europe, and Australia. They are instrumental in developing new markets and providing client-facing roles to take Maurya International to new heights.
